Welcome to Vancouver and the upcoming meeting of the Glaucoma Research Society!

Our next meeting will take place in the summer of 2006. It is a great pleasure and an honour to again welcome you on behalf of the Executive Committee and our Canadian host

Dr Raymond LeBlanc and Canadian member colleagues will host the 9th meeting of our Glaucoma Research Society, which will be held in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The meeting will start with a welcoming reception on Wednesday June 28th and conclude with a gala dinner on Saturday July 1st, 2006

Our meeting in Bahia earlier this year was enjoyed by all participants, as was the Chantilly meeting in 2003. We are now planning the Vancouver meeting, which will again be conducted with emphasis on open discussion.

The theme of the upcoming meeting will be "Improving glaucoma care worldwide"

This overview we hope will stimulate both visionary and critical thinking about this important global disease.

Interest for the upcoming meeting has again been great, both from members and from our corporate sponsors. Thanks to generous scientific program support from industry and the established sound economy of the Society based on membership fees and small operating expenses, we hope to be able to provide a very attractive price for the total registration package.

Vancouver offers many attractions. The board and I have also received many enthusiastic comments on the choice of Vancouver from members on all continents.
After a site visit together with Dr LeBlanc earlier this year I feel absolutely sure that our meeting venue will provide just the right setting for a very productive and most enjoyable meeting.

Please set aside the dates in your calendar and plan to contribute and follow the development of the program on this web-site.

See you in Vancouver!
