One-way Airport transfers to Millbrook Resort are included in the delegate and accompanying person registration fee. If you would like to purchase additional tickets, please complete the appropriate section of the online registration form.

To assist delegates upon their arrival into Queenstown, shuttle buses will be available. A guide will be stationed at the airport as a recognition point for delegates.

To ensure that we do our best in meeting your flight, we require that you complete the flight information section of the online registration form.

Proposed shuttle times and costs are as follows:

Business Hours
Banks generally open from 9.00– 17.00 Monday - Friday. General office hours are 9.00 – 17.00 Monday - Friday. Post Offices operate these hours, however stamps are often available from hotels.

Climate and Clothing

February is summer in New Zealand and average February daytime temperatures hovers around 20°C (F high 80°s – 90°s). The summer days are long and midsummer dawn is as early as 5am while dusk settles around 9-10pm.

In February, the climate in New Zealand can be inclement and temperatures range from 10°C to 22°C. In summer, a light jacket or sweater should be included in your luggage should the weather turn cooler or you visit higher altitudes. You can expect some rain, so include a light rainproof jacket or coat. Generally New Zealanders are informal dressers, however, we suggest you bring a jacket and tie with you for special occasions.

Eating Out

Bistros, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops offer varied menus, prices and decor. At some restaurants you can keep the liquor bill down by taking your own wine. These are called "BYOW" restaurants, an abbreviation for "bring your own wine".

Electricity

Electricity is supplied throughout New Zealand at 230/240 volts, 50 hertz. Most hotels and motels provide 110 volt ac sockets (rated at 20 watts) for electric razors only.

For all other equipment, an adapter/converter is necessary, unless the item has a multi-voltage option. Please note that power outlets only accept flat 3 or 2-pin plugs, depending on whether an earth connection is fitted.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) / Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS)

Goods and services tax (GST) is an indirect tax that businesses charge as part of the goods and services they provide. The current GST rate in New Zealand is 12.5%.

Visitors to New Zealand must pay GST on all goods and services that they buy whilst in the country. There is no refund of GST available when you leave New Zealand. Some stores may waiver this GST if you show a return air ticket. Further information can be obtained from the following website:

Passport & Visa

All travellers to New Zealand, other than Australian’s, require a valid entry VISA prior to travel to New Zealand. For many nationalities (29 in total) an Electronic Visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) can be obtained from your travel agent or airline when making your travel arrangements. Please see your travel agent, airline or visit the following website for further details:

Privacy
New Zealand introduced the Privacy Amendment Act 1994 in 1994. The Meeting Managers comply with such legislation which is designed to protect the right of the individual to privacy of their information. Information collected in respect of proposed participation in any aspect of the Meeting will be only used for the purposes of planning and conduct of the Meeting and may also be provided to the organising body or to organisers of future events. It is also usual to produce a ‘Delegate List’ of attendees at the Meeting and to include the individual’s details in such a list. Consent for publication of the individual’s information may be withheld when completing the Registration Form for the Meeting.

Quarantine
New Zealand is free from many plant and animal diseases prevalent in other countries. Very strict quarantine rules apply to the import of animals and plants, which cannot be brought into the country without prior application. Animal and plant products are also restricted.

Shopping
Most shops and businesses are open 9.00 – 17.00, Monday to Friday, as a minimum. Many stores also open Saturdays and some open on Sundays. Banks are closed on the weekend.

Time
New Zealand is 12 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

Tipping
Tipping is not as widespread or regulated in New Zealand as it is in other parts of the world. Tipping is your prerogative, a reward for service. It is customary to tip hotel porters and a gratuity of about 10 per cent is usual in restaurants if good service is received. Tips for taxis are regarded as optional.

Vaccinations
No vaccinations are required to enter New Zealand.
