Welcome to Queenstown, New Zealand and the upcoming
10th meeting of the Glaucoma Research Society!
The next meeting of the Glaucoma Research Society
will start in just four months. It is a great pleasure
and an honour for us to welcome you on behalf of the
Executive Committee and our host to Dr Ivan Goldberg.
The theme of the meeting is:
“Improving Glaucoma Care Worldwide”
In line with the opinions clearly expressed by members
at the business meeting in Vancouver, this meeting
will focus on discussion more than ever before,. Thus
there will be fewer and shorter presentations, and
more introductions to the discussions. The meeting
program has now been posted on our website.
Interest for the upcoming meeting has been great and
a majority of our active members have indicated that
they will attend. Industry has also been enthusiastic
and generous in their support of the program.
The meeting will take place at the Millbrook Resort
close to Queenstown, New Zealand. Please look at the
information on our web site. The Board and we feel
sure that this venue will provide just the right setting
for a productive meeting. Ivan Goldberg has done an
excellent job with the venue and the social program.
The Queenstown meeting will also mark the start of
many changes for the Glaucoma Research Society. As
you know our Strategy Group has been addressing several
key issues for our Society. At the meeting in Queenstown
the results of this work will be put forward for discussion
and voting. Suggested changes to our bylaws are intended
to broaden the influence of and input from all members,
and to formalize democratic and transparent processes
that will ensure the long-term health of our Society
